Hope and Progress for Improved Health in Haiti
Our board chair Gary Cohen, executive vice president of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), CEO of MDG Health Alliance and acting CEO of GBCHealth, is this week's guest blogger on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) website. His post focuses on public health progress in Haiti, including the CDC Foundation's partnerships with U.S. donors to fund the construction of two vital public health buildings.
In his blog post, "Hope and Progress for Improved Health in Haiti," Cohen writes:
"As the three-year anniversary of Haiti’s earthquake recently passed, international attention has focused on the country’s struggle to recover. Amidst slow and uneven improvements in housing and transportation, however, Haiti’s public health services deserve recognition for its significant progress."
