Connected Communities: Harnessing Technology for Resilience
Natural Disasters. Infectious Diseases. Emerging Threats. It’s not a matter of if your community or organization will need to respond and recover. It’s a matter of when, how and with what resources. Join a conversation with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) along with Bay Area business, technology, community and health leaders to spark innovative solutions that lead to more prepared, resilient communities—in California and beyond, both now and in the future.
What it is
An invitation-only event that will bring together business and technology leaders with CDC, health and community organizations to discuss innovative ways technology can enhance healthy communities and personal resilience following health threats such as the recent wildfires and mudslides and the seasonal flu epidemic.
Why it's needed
When responding to health threats, the government has unique capacities as well as limitations. The same is true for the private and philanthropic sectors. By participating in a robust, cross-sector brainstorming discussion, business and technology leaders can help CDC and others leverage data, predictive analytics and a range of proven solutions to protect people and save lives.
