CDC Foundation and GOJO to Enhance Hand Hygiene Educational Outreach in U.S. Healthcare Settings

The CDC Foundation is partnering with GOJO to provide unbranded hand hygiene educational materials and tools for patients, healthcare providers and caregivers in U.S. healthcare facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes and other ambulatory care locations. The goal of this initiative is to improve hand hygiene practices in these settings to help reduce the number of healthcare-associated infections.





National Emergency Operations Centers Support Long-term Public Health Infrastructure in West Africa

In the summer of 2014, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and officials from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone identified the need for public health emergency management systems and physical emergency operations centers (EOCs) to coordinate Ebola response activities. To meet this need, the CDC Foundation assembled donor funding to help support temporary EOCs, develop permanent EOCs and establish incident management systems to coordinate response efforts and help prepare each country for future health emergencies.

CDC Foundation, Pfizer and CDC Partner to Develop Longitudinal Data Collection System for Sickle Cell Disease

The CDC Foundation is partnering with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Blood Disorders within the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, the California Rare Disease Surveillance Program (a project of the Public Health Institute, located in Oakland, CA) and Pfizer Inc. to support the development and implementation of a longitudinal data collection system for Americans with sickle cell disease.
