Why I Give: A Celebration of Our Partners
Through their gifts of funds, expertise and engagement, our partners save and improve lives in the United States and throughout the world, and for that we at the CDC Foundation are extremely grateful.
It’s true that the CDC Foundation performs a key role by helping the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advance the agency’s lifesaving work. Our involvement with CDC work includes everything from preventing infections in cancer patients to helping to bring in funding that CDC can use to meet immediate needs during emergency responses, such as the current Ebola epidemic in West Africa. While our role is important, it would not be needed without CDC’s ongoing 24/7 work to address public health challenges or the funding and expertise provided by our donors to help extend CDC’s work.
Since 1995, the CDC Foundation has launched 761 programs and raised more than $450 million to advance the life-saving work of CDC. I am proud to lead an organization that helps millions of people live longer and healthier lives. See more highlights of our work in our fiscal year 2014 Report to Contributors, titled Why I Give: A Celebration of our Partners.
We greatly appreciate our partners and celebrate your deep commitment that inspires us and supports CDC’s work to create a healthier, safer world for us all.
