CDC Foundation Promotes Three Staff to Senior-Level Positions
Croft, Nelson and Talley named to C-Suite roles
The CDC Foundation today announced the promotions of three team members to C-Suite positions. The three promotions include Laura Croft, chief advancement officer, Pierce Nelson, chief communications officer and Brandon Talley, MPH, chief program and innovation officer.
“I am pleased to announce these promotions that build on the CDC Foundation’s impact and position us well for a continued future of saving and improving more lives by working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the public health community at large and our partners and donors,” said Judy Monroe, MD, president and CEO of the CDC Foundation.
In her new role as chief advancement officer, Croft leads the Advancement Department with overall responsibility for the Foundation’s resource mobilization efforts and donor relations strategy. Through cross-departmental collaboration, Croft and her team work strategically with CDC and other public health leaders to address public health priorities and critical needs through philanthropic and public-private partnership engagement. Additionally, Croft leads fundraising efforts for public health emergency response and readiness needs. She previously served as vice president for advancement and joined the Foundation in 2011.
As chief communications officer, Nelson leads internal and external communications for the Foundation. In this role, he collaborates with leadership and team members across the Foundation to guide development of the Foundation’s integrated communications strategy and has responsibility for advancing the Foundation’s brand across all communication channels, including media, web and social media, thought leadership and storytelling. He joined the CDC Foundation in 2012 as vice president for communications.
As chief program and innovation officer, Talley leads a team to develop and promote the Foundation’s state of the art program strategies and innovations. In addition to driving innovations, he is charged with promoting strong cohesion among both internal and external teams to increase scale and deepen the Foundation’s impact and support CDC’s mission. In this role, he also leads the Foundation’s strategy in support of CDC’s Data Modernization. Previously, Talley served as vice president for noninfectious disease programs. He joined the CDC Foundation in 2007 as an intern.
